Valerie Geller
Valerie Geller is president of Geller Media International, a broadcast consulting firm working with news, talk, information and personality programming for radio and television throughout the world. Geller coaches talent, leads "Creating Powerful Communicators" workshops and seminars, and has helped people at more than 500 stations in 31 countries develop and grow their audiences by training communicators to work more effectively.
Geller, a much in demand conference and keynote speaker and seminar leader, is the author of four books about broadcasting including her fourth book, "BEYOND POWERFUL RADIO - A Communicator's Guide to the Internet Age" Focal Press 2011 is available from Focal Press. Geller Media International hosted the International Producer's Workshops for ten years in New York City. Valerie Geller also serves as consultant to Powerful Radio Productions, Inc. an independent production company based in New York, which produces "Steppin' Out - The 12 Step Radio Show."
Valerie Geller's 30 year background in broadcasting includes experience working in all radio formats from commercial to public radio to Adult Contemporary, Smooth Jazz, Oldies Top 40 CHR, to Country and News/Talk.
MORE BACKGROUND:
In the 1980s, Ms. Geller ran the news department at KIOI/San Francisco, presented talk radio programs from Tampa Bay to Los Angeles and setup successful news/talk formats at a number of major stations.
In 1988 Ms. Geller helped launch the talk format at KFI/Los Angeles. In 1990 she programmed one of America's premier news/talk stations, WABC in New York. She began her career as a radio journalist, a field in which she has won several awards. During her early career Valerie Geller worked as a talk show host, anchor and reporter for various stations including KOA/Denver, KTAR/Phoenix, KOST and KRTH/Los Angeles, as well as three national American radio networks.
She held an elected seat as a member of the Associated Press Broadcasters board of directors and held an elected board seat for the Radio Television News Directors Association in California.
Based in New York City, Geller Media International provides a full range of training, coaching and consulting services for broadcast media, with emphasis on news/talk, information and personality programming.
